What are your nameservers?
Overview
When you register a domain name, you need to connect it with your hosting service by updating the domain's nameservers.
Nameservers tell the internet where your website's DNS records are managed and where your website hosting service is located.
This article explains which nameservers you should use based on your hosting service and how to configure private nameservers if required.
Shared Hosting and Semi-Dedicated Hosting Customers
If you are using our Shared Hosting or Semi-Dedicated Hosting services, you need to update your domain registrar with the following nameservers:
Primary Nameserver: ns1.websiteserverbox.com
Secondary Nameserver: ns2.websiteserverbox.com
Additional Nameserver: ns3.websiteserverbox.com
You can update these nameservers from your domain registrar panel or with the help of your domain registrar support team. If you have purchased the Domain from us we will completely take care of it from our end and updates the required nameservers for your domain's from our end accordingly.
Once the nameservers are updated, DNS propagation will begin, and your domain will start pointing to our hosting servers.
Reseller Hosting Customers
If you are using our Reseller Hosting service and want to use branded/private nameservers (for example, ns1.yourdomain.com), you can register your own private nameservers using the following server IP addresses:
ns1.yourdomain.com → 172.93.121.142
ns2.yourdomain.com → 66.85.47.172
ns3.yourdomain.com → 185.221.216.11
To create private nameservers, you need to register them from your domain registrar panel.
Look for options such as:
• Register Nameserver
• Create Child Nameserver
• Register Host Record
Configuring the private nameservers can be tricky task so we recommend our clients to complete this with the assistance of the domain registrar support team or we will aslo assist you with the same.
After registering the private nameservers, update your domain to use the newly created nameservers.
VPS and Dedicated Server Customers
If you are using a VPS or Dedicated Server, you can configure your own private nameservers using your server's assigned IP addresses.
Example:
ns1.yourdomain.com → Your Server IP
ns2.yourdomain.com → Your Server IP
You will need to ensure that:
• Private nameservers are registered at your domain registrar
• DNS zones are configured correctly on your server
• DNS services are running properly
• Your domain is pointing to the newly created nameservers
Important Notes
• Nameserver changes may take up to 24-48 hours to fully propagate worldwide.
• During propagation, some visitors may still reach the previous server until DNS updates are completed.
• Ensure the nameservers are entered correctly to avoid website or email connectivity issues.
• If you are unsure which nameservers to use, contact our support team for assistance.
Conclusion
Using the correct nameservers ensures that your domain properly connects to your hosting account.
Shared and Semi-Dedicated Hosting customers should use our default nameservers, while Reseller, VPS, and Dedicated Server customers can configure custom/private nameservers based on their hosting environment.
